WASHINGTON D.C
FBI lied to Hunter Biden's attorney over the Ukraine incident.
What you need to know: According to recently revealed emails, the FBI forwarded federal prosecutor David Weiss' office a New York Times article in 2020 that allayed worries about Hunter Biden's employment with a Ukrainian firm. This occurred while Weiss was conducting an investigation into Hunter Biden.
Why it is important: According to the report, which cited FBI sources, the investigation into the Biden family's connections to Ukraine was motivated by Donald Trump's supporters and was therefore unfounded. However, there was solid material in the FBI's possession about a purported bribery plan involving Joe Biden and his son. In spite of this, the bureau misled the public, the press, and federal prosecutors.
Protecting the Biden family: According to the report, which cited FBI sources, the investigation into the Biden family's connections to Ukraine was motivated by Donald Trump's supporters and was therefore unfounded. However, there was solid material in the FBI's possession about a purported bribery plan involving Joe Biden and his son. In spite of this, the bureau misled the public, the press, and federal prosecutors.
Zoom out: The FBI exerted pressure on social media sites to block information regarding Hunter's laptop in the same year, even though they were aware that the laptop was real. This concealed even more details about Hunter's usage of his father's connections abroad. Since then, Republicans have made proof of Joe Biden's intimate involvement public.

Vance (R-Ohio), forbids the federal government and public schools from imposing mask requirements. According to Vance, previous regulations infringed on people's right to bodily autonomy, did little to stop the spread of COVID-19 and divided Americans. The law is being introduced in the midst of a fresh round of mask requirements as COVID cases marginally increased to pandemic levels.

🧾 Justice Clarence Thomas published a statement disputing accusations made by the left. Clarence Thomas, a justice on the Supreme Court, issued a financial statement outlining four trips he took with a millionaire friend to counter the liberal media's defamation of the conservative black man. Earlier this year, a ProPublica investigation accused the justice of corruption while dismissing moral questions raised by liberal Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The left's campaign to destroy Justice Thomas, which began during his 1991 confirmation hearing, is seen by conservatives as including the claims.

Elon Musk fights the ADL over the free speech controversy
What is going on: Elon Musk has vowed to sue the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), claiming that the group damaged X's ad sales by "falsely accusing" the platform of encouraging antisemitism. X was formerly known as Twitter.
Elon's issue: Due to their antisemitic material, many of the users who had been previously banned were now allowed to express themselves freely thanks to Musk. Naturally, this has resulted in more of such content. In accordance with its creator revenue-sharing model, X also permits the monetization of this content.
ADL’s role: Advertisers have stayed away from X due to concerns that Musk's support for free speech makes the platform unsafe to use for advertising, according to the ADL. The ADL has emphasized the issues and recently met with the business to talk about possible solutions.
Zoom out: The ADL, which was initially founded to combat antisemitism, has recently undergone a harsh partisan makeover under the leadership of Jonathan Greenblatt, a former Obama advisor. This follows a pattern set by other venerable liberal activist organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center and the American Civil Liberties Union.
Right now: The ADL exaggerates its prominence on the right and places the blame on the GOP while mostly ignoring left-wing antisemitism and hate speech. In order to broaden partisan censorship, it has also collaborated closely with organizations like Twitter, Facebook, and PayPal.
The Bottom line: Although X currently permits crucial discussion on transgenderism and other topics, it also permits speech that is viewed as immoral by all sides of the aisle. Musk will have to consider how much he supports free expression as he works to attract advertisers.
