Why it's important: As opposed to taking no action to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States, Mexico now openly assists migrants for financial gain. This complete disrespect for American immigration rules is common in the area. Sending thousands of migrants to the United States has become a lucrative industry for political figures in Colombia.
