🇵🇸 According to Hamas, they agreed to a cease-fire. On Monday, representatives of Hamas declared their acceptance of a three-phase cease-fire negotiated by Egypt and Qatar. As Israeli military operations in Rafah continue, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the agreement will probably "leave Hamas intact," making it unworkable for the Israelis.

💰 Protesters in Palestine are also being funded by donations to President Biden. Leading benefactors of the president, including Susan and Nick Pritzker, George Soros, and David Rockefeller Jr., have been actively sponsoring the organizations coordinating anti-Israel demonstrations on college campuses. while the majority of Americans back Palestine now, contributors are pressuring Biden to take a more moderate stance on the Palestinian cause.

🇷🇺 In Russia, an American soldier is being held captive. Officials from the United States acknowledged that an Army serviceman was detained in Russia last week on suspicion of stealing. Members of Congress have voiced alarm over the issue, believing that Vladimir Putin may punish the soldier severely while requiring major concessions in exchange for his release to the United States.

🙅‍♂️ It is anticipated that A.G. Merrick Garland will be found in contempt of Congress. The Attorney General will be found in contempt of Congress by House Republicans next week due to the Justice Department's failure to produce audio from President Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur. The DOJ rejected Congress's demand because they thought there was no "legitimate congressional need" to turn over the audio recordings.

Protest-friendly universities face consequences

Here is what's going on: Weeks of disorderly pro-Palestine protests at colleges around the nation have worn out many Americans. Administrators are probably not prepared for the inevitable criticism that is coming.

Bipartisan condemnation: Congressmen from both parties flocked to the radio over the weekend to express their disapproval of the protests.

• Republican senators Tom Cotton and Marco Rubio criticized the colleges and demanded that international students' visas be canceled if they participated in the demonstrations.

• Progressive Representative Ro Khanna criticized the more radical speech while endorsing the students who "simply want the war to end." Democratic Senator Mark Kelly (AZ) also expressed support for the police intervening when rallies turn violent.

Consequences: Congress is likely to summon additional college presidents to testify on the behavior on their campuses. Congress has been punishing universities for not acting against what it considers to be antisemitic activity by enacting several laws.

• Financial penalty: Congress is thinking of taking away the tax-exempt status of government-funded universities that have facilitated these kinds of anti-Israel demonstrations. House Republicans have threatened to cancel government research funds and other aid in response to their recent investigation into antisemitism on college campuses.

• Boycott law schools: More than a dozen federal judges have said in writing that they will no longer be hiring Columbia students to work as legal clerks.

Why is it important? By permitting rallies to turn violent, disorderly, and menacing to Jewish students, major American institutions have put themselves in danger. Soon, the public and the federal government will probably take revenge on them.
