DeSantis Puts His Career Tailspin After Dem Florida Mayor Got Arrested

One Democratic mayor in the Sunshine State has had a challenging week thus far. Anthony DeFilipo, the mayor of North Miami Beach, has been taken into custody and charged with various felony offenses. This pertains to electoral fraud, which is something that Republicans have been vocally opposed to for many years.

Now, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is taking action, and it’s possible that DeFillipo’s career may be finished because of it. The week before last, DeFillipo was arrested and charged with three charges of Election-Unqualified Voter, and each of those counts is a felony of the third degree. In essence, it asserts that he participated in an election while disqualified and did so multiple times.

If he is found guilty on all charges, he may be sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in jail. All of this ought to be more than sufficient to persuade DeSantis that DeFillipo should not have a job. Even though he has not been dismissed from his position just yet, he will not be reporting to work. However, that wasn’t where the governor’s executive order came to an end.

In addition to this, it said that DeFilippo was not allowed to perform any official act, duty, or function of public office; or receive any pay or allowance During a news conference, the State Attorney for Miami-Dade County, Katherine Fernandez Rundle, who is a Democrat, claimed that DeFillipo voted illegally three times.

It appears that DeFilipo had relocated out of North Miami Beach, but according to the allegations, he returned there three times to vote in a district that he was no longer a resident of. The data from his cell phone allowed us to follow his movements. In his defense, DeFilipo stated that he totally forgot, but he will need to provide some kind of evidence to the court to back up his claim.

Some people believe that a person won’t forget that he can’t vote in a district that he is no longer a resident of, particularly if they are an elected official in that district. Some others believe that he won’t spend any time in jail regardless of what happens. After being arrested, however, Governor DeSantis is not going to allow DeFillipo to continue in his duties, and there is no doubt about that.
