Sinema Said Biden is Denying a Serious Reality About Border

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema remarked that it is evident to anyone with eyes that the border is not secure, and the fact that the Biden administration is pretending that it is is hurtful to people in border states because it is simply not true. She made her statement on an episode of the Special Report program on the Fox News Channel.

After watching a video clip in which DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas claimed that the border is safe, Senator Kyrsten Sinema declared, So, obviously, the border is not secure.” That is readily apparent to anyone who has eyes. And anyone who lives in a border state like I do, especially someone who was born and reared in Arizona like I was, truly takes offense at comments like that because they are simply not true in terms of the facts.

The unfortunate truth is that border communities in my state are already enduring hardships, and this is before Title 42 has been fully implemented. Just the week before, I held a hearing in our Border Subcommittee. I invited a Republican mayor and a Democratic mayor, both of whom represent small border towns in Arizona, and we asked them to describe a typical day in their communities.

And, Bret, there are high-speed chases going on across the city of Sierra Vista right now, with young teenagers driving automobiles and occasionally being killed or causing the death of others, as they smuggle narcotics and other migrants through these areas. It is not safe to do so. It is not a safe option.
