Also, Tara Reade sues the DOJ for millions
Compared to The New York Times, The Associated Press has been more successful in preserving the appearance of objectivity. However, not much has changed. We'll get into the specifics and how it's managed by a board that has close ties to the government, censorship, and left-wing advocacy.
☕️ Today we’re covering:

🔎 The DOJ is being sued for millions by Tara Reade. The woman who accused Biden of sexual assault in 2020 is suing the Department of Justice for $10 million, saying that her privacy rights were violated and that she suffered emotional distress and other damages as a result of violations of both federal and state constitutional rights. She further asserted that she was the target of an FBI investigation known as "Operation Cassandra," which was implemented as payback for her criticisms of Biden.
🤖 During the hearing, Zuckerberg argues with senators. Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley chastised Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for his hotly debated assertion that there was no connection between teen usage of social media and "mental health outcomes." Hawley referenced research from Meta that demonstrated the obvious drawbacks of its platform for teenagers. Cruz questioned Zuckerberg further about Meta's approval of Facebook searches for content about child abuse.
📃 Legislators in California present legislation for restitution. A group of pioneering "reparations" measures, intended to make up for American slavery, which ended in 1865 and never existed in California, were introduced by state legislators in that state. The proposals are probably unlawful because they include money for "specific groups" even though there are no direct cash payments included.
🇺🇳 The U.S. Ambassador to the UN demands that Hamas free its hostages. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield claimed in a statement that Hamas could quickly put an end to the Israel-Hamas war by freeing the hostages they have held since the killing on October 7. In addition, Thomas-Greenfield stated that until the UN Relief and Works Agency transforms itself in response to the disclosure that a minimum of twelve of its staff members participated in the Hamas attack in Israel, financing for the agency will remain suspended.

Today, the Associated Press serves as a political Weapon.
Let's get started: The Associated Press (A.P.) is one of the most important media organizations in the world because of its large readership and social media "fact-checking" role. Given a recent AP "fact check" that Upward News disproved, it's important to recognize the figures influencing this organization.
To catch up, the fact check's author and most of the others are A.P. editors who were once employed by Newsguard, a media rating website. The Pentagon and the Department of State provide funding to the organization, which tries to steer users and advertisers away from "unreliable" websites. Once, the editor sent a fact-check to Upward News that lowered our social media presence.
Furthermore, the A.P. is run by board members who have strong ties to government programs, censorship, and left-wing campaigning.
Head of the Knight Foundation Maribel Perez Wadsworth has financed Newsguard and the Global Disinformation Index, another state-supported organization that targets media sites.
A research center that collaborated with federal authorities to filter content relevant to elections and vaccines was established with assistance from the Knight Foundation. It also co-founded a research organization funded by Soros that opposes GOP attempts to limit censorship.
Lisa DeSisto is the CEO of a company that, with funding from progressive benefactors like George Soros, bought several local newspapers.
The American Press Institute, which receives funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and a group of billionaires who favor Biden, is led by Kevin Mowbray, a board member and previous chair of the organization.
For whom is the A.P. paid? The A.P. has received significant donations from organizations that support transgenderism, racial advocacy, climate programs, and the filling of the Supreme Court. Certain sponsorships have overtly political objectives, like addressing "the intersection of race and voting."
Why it’s important: The political forces that journalists once held responsible for the A.P. have combined with them. Its long-standing standing as an "independent" news source, however, guarantees its influence going forward.
